What is a trichologist?
A trichologist is a specialist in hair and scalp science. The work is reading: the strand itself, the follicle and the scalp it sits in under magnification, and the patterns that point back to what is driving a change. At this practice that read is done at 200x on screen while you watch, and it is paired with a look at the internal picture in the same visit.
What is the difference between a trichologist and a dermatologist?
A dermatologist is a physician covering skin, hair and nails across a wide range of conditions, including prescriptions and procedures. A trichologist focuses only on hair and scalp, and the whole appointment goes into reading them at 200x alongside the systems behind them. Because we work outside insurance, treatment is chosen for what works rather than what is covered. Many of our clients see both.
Who actually performs my visit?
A certified trichologist performs your evaluation and any hands-on treatment. Dr. Nina Ross, ND, Double Board Certified Trichologist, sets the protocols as Clinical Director. Everything is handled in-house.
What does the first visit include?
The $99 Hair & Body Discovery: 30 minutes one-on-one with a certified trichologist, a 200x magnification read of your scalp on screen while you watch, and your Hair & Body Discovery Report the next day.
Where is the clinic?
8735 Dunwoody Place, Suite 290, Sandy Springs, GA 30350, inside the Nina Ross Functional Medicine building, just off GA-400 near the Perimeter with free parking. Monday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Serving all of Metro Atlanta.
Do I need to take my braids, locs or wig out?
No. Come as you are. The trichologist parts and reads between what is installed. If your style fully covers your scalp, mention it when you book.
